Postado 11/09/2011 às 07:49 09/11, 2011 Former PRIDE light heavyweight contender, Ricardo Arona has revealed he recently turned down an offer from Strikeforce amongst other promotions and will hopefully be ready to return to competitive action at some point early next year as his training center is nearly ready. Speaking via Globo, Arona said: “I went back to prepare myself physically and to finish building a training center in my house in Niterói. It’s pretty big and full. I want to return early next year. First I want to be ready to compete in anything, God willing. My goal is to do that, no doubt. I received an invitation from Strikeforce and several national events, but did not close anything. I’m hoping to be ready to return.” “My Training Center is almost ready. It has a huge mat space. I put a ring, functional training room, weight room, physiotherapy room. The place is great. It should be ready in no more than two months and after that with three months of training I’ll be ready for everything. I will form a team. After putting the team together we will structure it with good coaches. But I still have no names of teachers. I will invite a bunch of coaches to join the team.” Arona was a force to be reckoned with in the PRIDE days, taking on the likes of Wanderlei Silva, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Will he be able to recreate those glory days inside the octagon if he’s given a chance despite a sad run of injuries? Tell us what you think… By Michael Pepper. Enquanto isso ele fica fazendo doce pra ver se os empresarios aumentam o dinheiro pra ele voltar.
